Veteran Australian troubadour Glenn Skuthorpe is on the cusp of releasing his fifth studio full-length album, See My World, and theMusic.com.au is proud to present its premiere stream for you to treat yourself with today.
Touching on hallmarks common in the realms of roots, country, rock and blues — though never really settling on any one particular influence over the others, instead favouring a warm, multi-flavoured melange of sounds throughout — Skuthorpe has spent the past few decades refining his distinct sonic sensibility, having previously released four well-regarded albums in the lead-up to his latest effort.
See My World, which is set for release in early February, is a fittingly accomplished, fourteen-track-long (including one remix) distillation of Skuthorpe's considerable talents and innate connection to the sounds and expanses of this broad, burnt land. As a Nhunggabarra, Kooma, Muruwari man, Skuthorpe's ties to Australia and Australiana run deeper than most, and his evocative compositions come polished off with a sincere reverence for the styles of the '60s and '70s that lends his work a broader timelessness and accessibility that is extraordinarily difficult to deny.

Skuthorpe's charm and capability have steered him to a lauded career as a touring singer-songwriter, having most recently made his way through Canada and along Australia's east coast with appearances at the Calgary, Edmonton and Woodford folk festivals as well as slotting in appearances at Byron Bay Bluesfest and the Sydney Opera House.
See My World will be released this Friday, 3 February.
