Shifting his focus to expansive soundscapes, Perth-based singer-songwriter David Craft takes a sidestep from the style of folk he’s become known for with his latest release.
Cola Dreams sees an interesting transformation from Craft’s debut LP, Smokey Lungs & Dirty Puns, which was accompanied by a WAM Award for Best Folk Act, and its six-songs show an artist who’s looking to evolve with each release.
“Cola Dreams investigates nostalgia and how childhood memories shape and define us as we grow,” Craft said.
“Cola Dreams is a story told from a young person’s mind, by an adult's voice.”

Its haunting folk/modern electronica vibes came together from recordings done near Perth’s seaside and an old cotton mill in Melbourne, which no doubt assisted in the unique tone.
