"'Joy' explores the vulnerability of letting someone in."
Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird are back with a new track and there's a whole lot to like about it.
Dubbed Joy, the track is a story of a relationship's breakdown and then the elation of falling in love again, and was recorded between Melbourne and Los Angeles with producer Matt Neighbour.
"Joy explores the vulnerability of letting someone in," shares frontman Lachlan Rose. "Of allowing someone to imbue you with a good feeling."
"Happiness feels so gloriously simple when it hits, but the path towards it can be so complex and so painful. This song is for anyone on that path."
The group's second album, New Romancer, is due for release on 30 August. Find out more about Cousin Tony’s Brand New Firebird here.
