Ahead of the release of a special double vinyl release this month, Sydney pop-rock act Castlecomer are today premiering both videos for Fire Alarm and Escapism right here at theMusic.com.au.
Filmed on the same day in Sydney, the videos artistically complement each other and show the darker and lighter side of each track.
Frontman Bede Kennedy spoke on both songs — touching on Fire Alarm he said, "We wrote this song at a particularly difficult time when the band were at their lowest, and Fire Alarm became the track that represented a turning point of who we wanted to be. We wanted the clip to represent this with Hunter's intense dancing combined with red background to make the viewer feel on edge."
On Escapism Kennedy commented, "The bright back-light shining through the band while we play represents escaping from the stresses of life. I wrote Escapism while working in a boarding house for men with schizophrenia, and the track is a reflection on the human necessity to find ways to escape every day life - and for us that's through music."
