Emergent Melburnian rapper Boy Graduate will release his new EP, Girl To Boy Ratio, in the next few months and, ahead of its release, he's been kind enough to share his new video clip, Never Watch TV, for premiere with The Music today.
The clip pays homage to Boy Graduate's extended family in the Philippines, shot on location in Antolo province. Scenes from a seemingly totally different world flash across the screen as Boy Graduate spits rhymes ruminating on the value of hard work, persistence, dedication and loyalty.
"I share a special connection with the people of Antipolo; I've seen these people grow in life as they have watched me grow," Boy Graduate said of the video in a statement. "This is why it was such an honour to be able to create this project and have them all involved."
The video was directed, shot and edited by Chirpmedia, with the support of the Antipolo community and the province's Jett's Gym branch.
Girl To Boy Ratio is expected to be released in August, with a launch show to follow in early September.
