Comedian and actor Pete Davidson is gearing up for his second hour-long Netflix special, Turbo Fonzarelli, which is set to premiere on January 9.
Directed by Jason Orley and produced by the Above Average production company, the special delves into the comedian's reflections on growing up, turning 30, a childhood crush on Leonardo DiCaprio, and navigating the intricacies of love and life – all while throwing in some humour about living in the woods.
The teaser, shrouded in mystery, features Davidson dramatically exhaling smoke from a cigarette, then, as the smoke clears a voiceover announces, "Coming January 9th, a Netflix comedy special, Pete Davidson is Turbo Fonzarelli."
Davidson, who is best known for his Saturday Night Live performances, is seen leaving a green room surrounded by a cloud of smoke, dropping a cigarette butt in an ashtray, and walking into a crowd of screaming fans. The teaser leaves the narrator — and all of us — wondering, "What the f**k is a Turbo Fonzarelli?"
The comedy show marks Davidson's second Netflix special, following his debut in 2020 with Pete Davidson: Alive in New York. The 30-year-old has also recently been taking his stand-up set on the road for a string of shows across the US.
Since his breakout on SNL back in 2014, Davidson has seen a meteoric rise in his career, starring in notable projects like The King of Staten Island, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Big Time Adolescence, and The Suicide Squad. He also starred plays a fictionalised version of himself in Bupkis, which has been renewed for a second season.

The funnyman’s fame has not only extended to his professional life but has also ignited public interest in his personal life and relationships, thanks to his highly-publicised relationships with stars like Ariana Grande.
Addressing this, Davidson stated in a recent podcast, "I've dated people — and for some reason, that's very crazy and interesting to people. I don't think it's interesting."
Pete Davidson’s Turbo Fonzarelli premieres on Netflix on Jan. 9, 2024 (and fingers crossed it goes better than Dave Chappelle’s latest special) .
