"Playing a gig is the best way to bring in the new year."
KLP: Thundamentals? Ball Park Music? Street party?! It just sounds damn fun.
Dean Hanson (Ball Park Music): Playing a gig is the best way to bring in the new year. We've always had great support in Newcastle, so it was a no brainer when the opportunity arose!
DJ Morgs (Thundamentals): The line-up put together and the idea of a street party on NYE close to the beach was definitely appealing. We are also not too far from home, so the hangover couch isn't too far.
Have you ever celebrated NYE at a street party before? If so, what happened?
KLP: No, never! Excited to see how it all unfolds...
DH: I think we've spent every NYE for the past six years playing concerts, so it's hard to even remember what it's like to celebrate new years any other way. Fortunately the champagne is always free.
DJ M: I spent a NYE in Barcelona. They have a funny tradition where you eat 12 grapes for the 12 strokes of midnight; there were thousands of people with full mouths, all screaming and eating. Niiice.
What is your New Year's resolution?
KLP: I haven't actually thought of one yet. This year has been great, I figure if I keep doing what I've been doing then good things will happen. So maybe something simple like... Keep pushing on.
DH: To go out on a photography excursion at least once a week. If anyone is keen to come along, drop me a line.
DJ M: Make more music! We [already] spend the majority of our time doing this, but I would like to up the output this year for sure.

Any special surprises for your set on NYE?
KLP: I might throw some classic house tunes in the mix!
DH: I'm backing us to slide a sneaky new song into the set for NYE. This ruins the surprise but I think there'll be a few surprised faces when people realise we're rappers now.
DJ M: It's our first ever countdown. So we may just have to pop some bottles into the crowd and play one of the new bangers we have been working on.
Who are you hoping to kiss at midnight?
KLP: Midnight shouldn't be all about kissing - it should be about celebrating. High fives, hugs and moves on the dancefloor will suffice.
DH: I'd love to be kissing my girlfriend at midnight but she will be in a different state (geographically not emotionally). 'Still a better love story than Twilight'.
DJ M: Pamela Anderson.
What is your hangover cure?
KLP: Less drinking! Exercise and healthy living in general seems to do the trick. Funny that!
DH: My best tip is: always untie your shoelaces before bed no matter how wasted you are. Nothing's more frustrating than trying to untie an amateur double knot while sporting a massive hangover.
DJ M: NBA League Pass, coconut, lime splice and Grain Waves.
