Newtown Festival Focus: Klue

Presumably you've been to the Newtown Festival before, what's your favourite memory? Playing there with True Vibenation in 2015 was one of my favourite shows ever. I've never spotted so many friendly faces in a crowd before. Playing a festival in your own hood is something else!

Lots of suburbs put on festivals, but Newtown Festival is always particularly huge - why do you think that is? It's a place that has a good feeling of community, there's a stronger appreciation for music and arts, and the Neighbourhood Centre has done a great job of building this over the years.

Favourite spot at the festival to chill and watch the world go by? I don't foresee me doing much chilling 'cause there's so much music to see. But for those so inclined I'd recommend somewhere over by the trees.

What would be your entry into the dog show? I don't have a dog, and it's going to be way too hot to wear a dog suit, but I reckon I'd make a great dog show host.

The festival's theme this year is "Home Is Where The Heart Is" - where do you feel most at home in Newtown and why? Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, where the festival happens. In the evenings, seeing the flocks of dogs let out to play together after being inside all day is guaranteed to lift your mood. Vicarious bliss!

The musical line-up this year is all from inner west artists. What is it about the inner west that inspires so much creativity? Being around a creative scene and community really helps you develop and stay inspired. I really hope that survives here, with so many musicians and artist being priced out of the area lately.

Of all the food stalls on offer at the Festival, what do you reckon is one we should definitely check out and why? I went for dinner at Lat Dior African Eatery with a friend a little while back, let's just say I'll be visiting their stall on arrival! That's flavour territory right there.
