This talented musician, now based in Sydney, has garnered attention for his distinct musical style. In May, SaxONLY released his latest captivating track, Another Done Day. Prior to that, in March, he delighted fans with the enthralling single City Lights, featuring Phi11a.

During our interview with SaxONLY, we delved into his background, upcoming releases, and the team supporting him. Originally from the border of New South Wales and Victoria, SaxONLY discovered his passion for music at the young age of 15. What began as a spare-time experiment evolved into a profound musical journey. He honed his skills by crafting his creations in the comfort of his bedroom, gradually developing a unique and captivating style.

SaxONLY's early fanbase grew rapidly as he showcased his well-produced and refreshingly unconventional pop anthems, infused with hyperpop influences, on social media. As one of the first artists in the country to embrace this international sound and infuse it into his music, he earned recognition from tastemakers worldwide.

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm working on a bunch of music right now. I'm really focused on progressing my sound for future music. I have some cool collaborations coming up this year as well.

I came across your music from Phi11a! How did that link-up happen?

Back in 2021, Phi11a came across me on TikTok. He later reached out to me in 2022 asking to be his open act in Melbourne. This was the first show I did it was a super memorable moment for me!

Where were you before Sydney? Give our readers the backstory.

Before I moved to Sydney I was living in my hometown in regional NSW, Corowa. I grew up there and started making my own music in my bedroom. I spent a lot of time recording and learning about making music.

Another Day Done is such a soothing track, What’s the story behind that one?

I made Another Day Done with the intention to reflect on people coming in and out of my life. Over the past year, I have seen a bunch of people come and go and I wanted to write about it and make a song out of it.

What’s the plan for releasing for the rest of 2023?

My release plans for the rest of the year are super exciting I am going to be dropping a lot of super melodic singles to see the year through.

If you could perform with anyone living or dead, who would it be?

I would have loved to perform with Juice Wrld, he is a massive inspiration to me and I tend to incorporate similar mannerisms into my own music.

What are your influences on writing music?

I listen to a lot of different music to get my inspiration, and as weird as it sounds, I get inspired by myself most of the time.

Last year I was signed to 3 Keys Records. I am super grateful for the people I am working with and the relationships I've built.
