Local band accused of being gay by radio host
A local indie band is as the centre of a brewing media scandal after a radio shock jock alleged that the four-piece had members who were homosexual.
Speaking during his regular 2am weekday slot, radio host Bob Rock said, “You know what I heard about that band Johnson Extended? I've heard – and from a pretty good source – that they're gay. The whole lot of them. Don't let them fool ya.”
The comments have caused a media storm today as the public demands answers and calls for transparency from the band, who have yet to confirm or deny the allegations.
At this stage it is unclear how reliable Rock's source is, or what factors led to the outburst.
