CarmadaIt’s been a couple of long months since we’ve heard the last solo material by Yahtzel, with the producer running circles around the electronic world with his joint project with LDRU, Carmada. However it’s now time for the boys to get back to their solo works, with Yahtzel coming in first with a quick and easy two-tracker entitled Art Room.
It begins with Part A, Super Grape, a fairly strange electronic cut built around the wonders of synth, with a brassy-style underlay against a light melody and percussion work. The single then changes pace with its B-side, Plasm, a more put-together ensemble of bongo, a smooth beat and a pretty damn funky melody. Art Room is definitely pushing Yahtzel away from the bass-heavy trap of the Carmada EP, with the Ulladulla local channeling a more experimental, unsyncopated style of the electronic music realm.
