Triple j's HOTTEST 100 Volume 20 will be released on February 22, so we take a look through the list and pick our highlights.
Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' was the main winner of Triple j's 20th annual HOTTEST 100, beating some major heavyweight artists for the coveted #1 spot. There also appeared to be a handful of under-the-radar musicians making appearances here and getting some serious recognition for their amazing work.
Without a doubt the most celebrated act on the on the list this year was Flume. We have been following the guy on this site for ages; rejoicing any time a new track got released, and then when the album dropped we were expectedly elated. So for us it was no surprise that Flume had three tracks ('On Top' ft. T-Shirt, 'Sleepless' ft. Jezzabel Doran and 'Holdin' On') and his remix of Hermitude's 'HyperParadise' appear on the list.

Another delightful inclusion on the HOTTEST 100 list (although not exactly surprising) was the double top 10 appearance from Perth's Tame Impala with their tracks 'Elephant' and 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards'.
Beyond these mostly picks inclusions, there were some delightful surprises, which included Of Monsters and Men's number two placing 'Little Talks'. This song has a seriously wicked video that matches perfectly with the quality of the track, which is no mean feat. And if YouTube views is anything to go by, it appears we are not in the minority.
Other notable inclusions include; Everything Everything 'Cough Cough' (#100), Asta 'My Heart Is On Fire' (#50), MS MR 'Hurricane' (#42), Disclosure - 'Latch (ft. Sam Smith) and Major Lazer 'Get Free' (ft. Amber Coffman of the Dirty Projectors) (#6).
