Listen: smol fish - Big Love

Borloo/Perth-based indie rockers tease new EP with atmospheric & anthemic single.

More smol fish smol fish

Ahead of the release of their sophomore EP Crocodile Tears, due out later this year, and having just been announced as part of BIGSOUND 2023, Boorloo/Perth four-piece smol fish drop their second single of the year, with the honest and emotional rocking sounds of Big Love out today.

An atmospheric slow-burner that builds to anthemic choruses, Big Love isn’t a typical soppy romantic love song, rather dealing with the universally relatable themes of platonic relationships and love.

Speaking on their new single, Clancy from the band explains “I think our biggest loves are platonic loves. I wrote this song at the end of my first long term relationship and a new chapter of my life was opening up. I was thinking about how I wanted to exist in the world on my own and the places in which I could channel love, care and tenderness. The security and loveliness garnered from my friends and family is so special to me. It makes the world a less scary place.”

Give Big Love a spin and stay tuned for more details on smol fish’s Crocodile Tears EP.
