ChairliftThe six minute long remix of Pluto by Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift sees the song gradually slide away from its dark nature into an upbeat, midnight-flavored tropical jam. It’s a strange progression that on paper wouldn’t make a lot of sense but in the hands of Wimberly the mood is subdued with twanging guitars and a firm bassline. This sees it gradually evolve over time until it starts to take control of the song, at which point the atmosphere becomes totally different. It’s a remix that surprises you over time and it’s how remixes should be done.
