It's the first single from his upcoming If I Tremble collection, and it's an absolute ripper..
Over the past two years, Sydney's Jack Grace has become one of Australia's most fascinating (and slept on) producers. His debut EP River - released last year - trembled with fragile and intricate productions, with BUOY (someone who he's worked with a lot in the past) stepping up for a tasty guest feature. Since the EP's arrival, he's been quietly working behind the scenes on his upcoming If I Tremble release - described as a seven-track collection of Jack's work - which now has its first single in BE4UGO. Released through local electronic champions Of Leisure, BE4UGO is a delicate return to glory from Jack Grace, piecing together a sombre, gradually-building production with his own, James Blake reminiscent vocals. It's a really clean-sounding return, and for Jack Grace, it comes from quite a personal place. "BE4UGO is about being in love and full of doubt. It's less pessimism and more desperation. When you feel every time someone walks out the door it's the last time," he says. "As I was writing I let the form mimic the way a typical shallow thought cycles through my head on repeat, it resulted in less song, and more idea."
