Produced by one of the country's pre-eminent young rap forces, Kwame..
Hot on the heels of her very-well-received second single Sushi, Western Sydney-based rapper Lauren has followed it up with another huge single - You Broke - again produced by hip hop dude of the moment, Kwame. With dark edgy production from Kwame, Lauren is free to work some serious flow with her silky smooth delivery, and announces herself as a major player on Australia's incredibly exciting emerging hip hop scene.

My name is Lauren and I grew up in a family of musicians. Other than being a rapper I also love all types of art including fashion and design. I’m a huge thrift shopper and I love to wear all types of weird clothes including boys clothes.
What kinda tunes we talkin’?
When looking for music I never really focus my energy on what genre they categorise themselves in I usually tend to focus on the emotion they are expressing and more the lyrical substance so I tend to absorb a weird mix genres/artist of music in my playlist. if I had to narrow it down right now would probably be artists like XXXtentancion, Roy Woods, Lil Kim, Jacki-O, Bbymutha, Smokepurpp, Jhene Aiko.
Women in hip hop show a lot of strength and power while also expressing their feminine side in there music which is something I definitely idolise.
Production/writing process:
I usually write a lot of ideas and lyrics down on my notepad. A lot of it comes from how I am feeling at the time. I take those ideas to a bunch of different producers I work with including Kwame, Domba, Korky Buchek.
Can you tell us about your new single, You Broke?
You Broke will be the third single I have ever released. With this song I want to show people that I am going to create my own path and succeed along my journey and I encourage other people to empower themselves and reach their full potential. I also want to express in the song that money shouldn’t be used as a main objective in life but definitely as a tool.
Where can we hear more of your music?
Right now you can listen to my music on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube and hopefully on the radio!
Any shows coming up?
In October 27th I’m supporting Amastro alongside my crew Bodega Collective at Oxford Art Factory and then December 7th for the sold out Ivan Ooze show on support in Newcastle.
What’s the rest of the year have in store?
Continue to work on new music and releasing one more single before the end of the year and living my best life in Queensland for the summer.
