A prominent Mumford & Sons-esque indie-folk band are believed to be fuming after not being asked to play Soundwave in 2014.
The English band, who, despite not playing a show or releasing any tracks, consider themselves one of the hottest festival acts going in the current festival period. As such, they had expected a tap on the shoulder from Soundwave organisers.
“Soundwave's one of the biggest festival's in Australia, and we surely would have cracked the market down there if we were headline,” the frontman and ukulele player told SPA Confidential today.
“To be quite honest I'm disgusted at the festival and fans will no doubt be outraged to miss out on our pastoral harmonies and foot-stomping duelling banjos bridges.”
While the band were previously open to an Australian festival appearance over summer, it is now believed they will play hard-to-get for all remaining offers.
“I'll tell you what though,” the frontman added, “our price for the second Soundwave announce has just doubled.”
