The Canadian trap lords are gonna get heavy..
Tom Wrecks and Pat Drastik both originate from Ottawa, now reside in Toronto, and are well known for a mean trap bomb or two. Having collaborated with the likes of Grandtheft and CRNKN and gaining huge support from such luminaries as Dilp, A-Trak, Flosstradamus and Just Blaze, the dudes know their way around a banger. They're in Australia for the first time ever this week, so we thought we'd get the inside scoop on what to expect:
What track are we opening up with?
We always like starting our sets off with tracks that have epic intros that build. RL Grime's Scylla has a great siren type intro that always sets things off right.
You’re miles away from home and you want to show some love for your home town/country. Which friend’s work are you gonna play?
We would play something from our Canadian brothers Grandtheft and/or Keys N Krates. Keep It 100 is a track that always makes it into our live performances.
The audience are well-oiled, now it’s time to make them lose their shit. What track is going to do it?
Diplo & GTA - Boy Oh Boy (THUGLI Remix). It's one of those tracks that sets off the good party vibes and allows the crowd to get weird with us.
You’ve got ‘em now, got a track show off how deep your taste goes?
Throw in some Mr. Carmack or some heavy rap beats. Rich Homie Quan ft. Young Thug - Get The F*ck Out My Face (Mr. Carmack Remix) should do the trick.
Energy levels are waning slightly, what’s a fail safe pick me up – either for yourself, or the crowd?
RL Grime & What So Not - Tell Me. This track shakes the walls and always gets the crowd going.
We’re on the home stretch, what’s a brand new track you’re going to test out?
We usually test out new tracks fresh from our studio that have been recently finished or are close to being completed. At one of our most recent shows we previewed a new Bootleg/Remix we made for Vic Mensa ft. Kanye West - U Mad... you can cop it via our WEBSITE.
It’s time for a breather, got a track with some real emotional feels?
Alison Wonderland ft. Wayne Coyne - U Don't Know (THUGLI Remix). Alison Wonderland's vocals set a really nice emotional vibe on this one.
Good night all and thanks for coming – what track are you going to leave everyone with?
Treat every day and night like it's your last one ever! We would finish it off with Yellow Claw & LNY TNZ - Last Night Ever (THUGLI Remix).
