Ahead of some special shows kicking off Friday 15th September, PVT's Richard Pike takes us through his new home of Bow E3, East London

Living legends PVT are a band that are synonymous with adventurous sounds, and with their consistently excellent output, the Sydney trio have cemented themselves as true pioneers in the electronic scene and beyond. A commanding presence both on and off stage, their fearless exploration has seen them become part of the rich tapestry of Australian music history, while each and every move they make sees even more new fans enter their legions of followers around the world.

Having been split across the world with members living in both Sydney and London, the trio have regrouped for a slew of special shows to celebrate the release of their critically acclaimed album, New Spirit, with a fine lineup of some of the country's most exciting acts. They'll be joined by Nico Niquo, as well as a host of innovative local acts including Melbourne's Corin, Dongelis (aka Sydney's Donny Benét in instrumental synth mode), plus Lower Spectrum and Erasersin Perth.

To get to know the legends a little better, we asked them to take us through one of the places they call home, and complete with some 35mm photos taken himself, Richard Pike has delivered. Check out his guide to his East London surrounds of Bow E3, and catch them at the dates below!

My neighbourhood is Bow E3, East London. Here are some 35mm pics I've taken over the years. As you can see in winter it can be a little bleak, industrial, austere 1950s council estates. But there's plenty to love.

1. Victoria Park

This is the biggest park in East London. I'm very lucky to be right next to it. Pavilion cafe is a great place to meet people for a hot lunch by the lake. You gotta do it.

2. The Peanut Vendor

This is a cafe, and a reclaimed Danish furniture shop. Of course Bow has one of those. They serve great grilled cheese sandwiches and they are lovely people. A+

3. The Eleanor Arms

This is a proper local pub, run by a mum and dad and their daughter. They have jazz on Sundays, and they just refurbed the beer garden. They've got Whitstable Bay on tap, and they know their whiskies.

4. The Lea River / Hertford Union Canal

A walk down the canal and the Lea River is great. Maybe London's not known for it's canals, but it's one of my favourite things.

5. The Green Goose

A great gastro pub. Good food. A nice change from Tesco, Poundland, and the rawness of Roman Road.

New Spirit is out now via CREATE/CONTROL.
