"This one time a million people turned up to the Lass and we all crowd surfed."

Answered by: Tim Merrikin & Jake Kennedy

When did you start making music and why? As a band we started a couple of years ago for an assignment at the Conservatorium of Newcastle. We liked what we came up with so we developed the project away from university.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Sci-fi prog folk.

If you could support any band in the world — past or present — who would it be? Tim: Senyawa. Jake: Afenginn and/or Crooked Fiddle Band, we've already opened for them and would love to again.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Jake: Lateralus by Tool. Tim: Sailing The Seas Of Cheese by Primus, the deluxe edition because it has extra tracks and has surround sound!

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? This one time a million people turned up to the Lass and we all crowd surfed whilst playing our third encore which was an improvised extended version of our longest most complex piece and there was a dragon. Sick one!

Why should people come and see your band? You'll get to hear us play through our (to-be-released) concept EP which is about invasion and inter-planetary travel.

When and where for your next gig? There's two coming up, 30 Sep, Kent Street Bar & Cafe and 1 Oct, Open Studio Bar.
