The "beautiful mess" that is Adelaide's The Unset
Answered by: Simon Ielasi
How did you get together? Elian (guitarist/vocalist) and I have been friends since high school. Having started a band previously to little success we disbanded. Elian and I continued writing songs then eventually we formed The Unset with Gordon (bassist).
Sum up your musical sound in four words? Post-rock, loop-pedals, shoegaze-ish, delicate.

If you could support any band in the world - past or present - who would it be? Past - Oceansize. They're a huge influence on us. Present - Sleepmakeswaves would be great! Maybe Biffy Clyro?
You're being sent into space, no iPod, you can bring one album what would it be? I hate this question! Michael Jackson's Bad would be up there, and Oceansize's Frames.
Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? With the former incarnation of the band, we supported The Butterfly Effect on their Imago tour. That was a great show! We look forward to making new moments (and hopefully bigger ones) with this band.
Why should people come and see your band? Because we make more noise then a three piece should. It's a beautiful mess.
When and where for your next gig? 26 Jul, UBERfest, The Light Hotel
