Have You Heard: Matt Andersen

When did you start making music and why? I've been singing since I was a kid, got my first guitar when I was 14. It was never really a conscious decision to play music, it was just part of our everyday life.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Roots and soul... eh.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells A Story is one of my favourite albums. I love the energy on that recording. Great musicians and Rod's voice driving the whole thing.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? Always feels "rock and roll" to travel long distances just in time to perform. Flying from Melbourne to Munich, driving straight to the venue without luggage, and stepping on-stage without a soundcheck is a feeling not everybody gets to experience.

Why should people come and see your band? The best way to experience music is live. Better than TV and cheaper than a movie. There's nothing to lose.
