More Anna Smyrk More Anna Smyrk

When did you start making music and why? I started playing violin when I was eight. I don't think I'd ever even seen a violin in real life but I begged my mum until she would let me.

Sum up your musical sound in four words? Dark, story-telling folk.

If you could only listen to one album forevermore, what would it be and why? That's a cruel, cruel question. I don't think I could survive in such a world. But probably Joni Mitchell, Ladies Of The Canyon. Never gets old.

Greatest rock'n'roll moment of your career to date? I've been living in the Solomon Islands lately, so not a lot of rock'n'roll moments. The last gig I played was in a little wood hut and the entire sound system was powered by a car battery.

Why should people come and see your band? If you like lots of vocal harmonies, banjo, violin and hearing stories from around the world, you'll like this.

When and where are your next gigs? 28 Jan, Wesley Anne. I'm doing a single launch.
