Get soulful with YesYou's brilliant new single, Change Is Gonna Come

With the bubble of main-stage EDM well and truly burst, there's been a massive rise in small-time producers doing some really impressive things with electronic music away from the big-room house of acts like Avicii. One of these artists is YesYou, an Australian duo who have been bubbling away from the limelight for too long now with a unique, soulful twist on electronica that extends far past tiresome remixes of Marvin Gaye. Their new single Change Is Gonna Come is the perfect example of this unique, retro sound, with the long-time producers enlisting 90s house vocalist Damon Trueitt for a track that is pumped full of passion and flavour in a way that not many others in the Australian electronic scene, let alone the world, is doing. Built around the warm and woozy soulful vocal line, YesYou perfectly craft a summery house beat that glistens and shines with atmospheric synth work and soaring vocal samples, which add to the soothing, 90s-esque feel to the track. By piecing together the production around the vocals (and not the other way around like most other producers), Trueitt's vocals and the accompanying production perfectly match and fit into place, a feat that has proven difficult when dealing with hazy vocals like those used in Change Is Gonna Come. The track arrives with a colourful video clip, produced by Sharin Yofitisari (who also did the single's artwork). Watch it below:
