Linkin Park On 'From Zero' & Their Return To Australia: 'We're More Assured That This Is What We Want To Be Doing'

Five Acts You Have to See At FOMO Festival

The inaugural FOMO festival kicks off this weekend in Brisbane, and with a lineup that jam-packed with awesome acts we thought we'd give you a bit of help.

The inaugural FOMO festival is just about set to descend on Brisbane this weekend. With a killer lineup, a picturesque location and one stage to cut out any threat of clashes, it's pretty much pegged for an all round good time for all who are lucky enough to have their hands on those hot tickets.

Bringing RL GRIMEFLIGHT FACILITIESSKEPTAJAMIE XXBOYS NOIZETKAY MAIDZAANNA LUNOE and so many more, it can still be a little overwhelming to know who to catch on the big day. Thankfully, we here at Purple Sneakers have got you. We care about you and want you to get the most out of your festival, so if you want to take anyone's advice, let it be ours. These are five acts you simply can't miss this weekend, Brisbane!

ANNA LUNOE

One of our coolest exports, it was only a couple of years ago that Anna Lunoe set sail for the USA in search of bright lights and big gigs. Since then she has gone onto become one of the biggest DJs in the world, conquering stages like COACHELLA and HARD festival, and is now making a long awaited return to home turf. She's also killed it at BEYOND THE VALLEYLOST PARADISE and ORIGIN, so you know she's going to bringing some serious heat to Brisbane this weekend. Take our word for it, Anna Lunoe is just warming up!

JAMIE XX

A veritable king in the international dance scene right now, Jamie xx has been on a rapid and steady rise to the top over the past few months. He was in Australia this time last year for Falls Festival, but it wasn't until midway through the year did he explode on just about everyone's radars with his debut album, In Colour. Topping many-a end of year 'Best Of' list, In Colour has taken Jamie xx from alternative and slightly mysterious producer to one of the biggest names in the world with an almost cult-like following. Don't tell us that doesn't sound worth watching!

SKEPTA

If there is one name that is synonymous with the total world takeover that grime experienced last year, it's Skepta. Firmly at the helm of the movement, Skepta became grime's unlikely hero thanks to a fateful performance with one Kanye West, and has since practically exploded worldwide. His swagger, his witty lyrics, his impossible flow and his beats that get the party started within seconds - these are all reasons why you need to see this man in action. FOMO marks the final stop on his maiden voyage around Australia, so why not give him the send off he deserves?

BOYS NOIZE

Just like your grandparents warned you, you must always respect your elders. Whilst Boys Noize isn't exactly "old" in the literal sense, he's been around long enough to know a thing or two, which is why having him on this festival bill makes it so exciting. A living legend in the dance music world, Boys Noize is practically royalty having become a pioneer of electronica in the boom of the mid 00's. You've gotta give it up for those who have gone before you, and Boys Noize is about as good as it gets.

TKAY MAIDZA

If you haven't seen Tkay Maidza live yet, you need to get out from under that massive rock you've been living under. Having played every festival in the country as well as countless sold out shows, Tkay is on the verge of really breaking through to the international stratosphere. Her complex rhymes mixed with her innate sass and badass beats make for an exceptional live show, and with so many gigs now under her belt, it's safe to assume she knows a thing or two about working a crowd. A true star in the making!

FOMO Festival kicks off from midday on Saturday, 9th January 2016 at the Riverstage in Brisbane. You can jump on the very few remaining tickets here, and see more details here.
