"Serfs Up! adds polish to their menace." – Sam Wall
Fat White Family have always been difficult to look away from, though in the past the attention they’ve attracted has often felt more like rubbernecking than genuine fascination. At their best, they toed a razor-fine line between danger and outright destruction. The rest of the time they were busy digging their own graves.
What an awesome surprise then that instead of going up “in a puff of brown smoke”, Fat White Family turned out one of the year’s most ambitious records. Serfs Up! adds polish to their menace, taking tricks from Gregorian chant, white reggae, glam, Wham! and everything in between in the process.
Dash the henge.
