"That personal contact is crucial for Unearthed and the artists, I think."

Position: Triple J Unearthed Music Director

How did you first become involved in the music business? Music journalism was my way in, writing for my local street press, paper and music blog. That led to paid writing gigs and ultimately to my dream job at Triple J Unearthed.

What's your area of expertise and what experience do you have? I've been hungrily hunting for new Australian discoveries since I was 18 and applying that drive to Triple J as programmer and music director of Unearthed for the last four years.

What topics will you be mostly talking about at Face The Music? Alongside Triple J, Double J and ABC Local radio colleagues I'll be discussing how emerging Australian artists can make the most of all those platforms and I suppose some of the decision making processes.

What do you hope to personally take away from Face The Music? I'm keen to get in front of artists and users of the site, answer some questions and hopefully demystify what we do. That personal contact is crucial for Unearthed and the artists, I think.

What's one question about the music industry you'd love to have the answer to? Where can I find the most comprehensive, continuously updated home for the best new Australian music? Thankfully I already know the answer to that one.
