EXCLUSIVE: The Milk Carton Kids - Monterey

Ahead of the Australian east coast tour that Grammy-nominated Californian duo The Milk Carton Kids will soon be embarking on, the two lads in the band are streaming their upcoming third record, Monterey, exclusively on theMusic.com.au.

Monterey is said to be more personal: "an album of unanswered questions, epiphanies that surface then disappear", with Kenneth Pattengale and Joey Ryan penning the album while touring theatres, churches, concert halls and arenas around North America.

Their 2013 debut The Ash & Clay scored the folk duo a Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album and also the award for Group Of The Year at the 2014 American Music Awards.

The album is due out officially on Friday, 15 May, after which they'll take to Sydney's City Recital Hall on Sunday, 28 June, the Athenaeum in Melbourne on Tuesday, 30 June and Bellingen's Bello Winter Festival on Saturday, 4 July.
