If you're still on the fence about whether to attend next year's Byron Bay Bluesfest, chances are you haven't looked closely enough at the line-up yet. The festival, which is celebrating its 31st year in 2020, knows how to deliver on an all-star bill. Here are our picks for the top five international acts you just gotta see at the upcoming Bluesfest.

LP

LP

The Marcus King Band

If you're thinking, 'wait a minute, weren't The Marcus King Band on last year's line-up?' you would indeed be correct. If you've heard this South Carolinian group, you'll understand why Bluesfest is itching to get them back. Earlier this year at Bluesfest's anniversary event, they packed out their tent as well as selling out their sideshow run. Start with Goodbye Carolina and lean into their catalogue from there.

LP

It's finally happening - LP is making her way to Australia. There's a reason that act like Cher, Rihanna, Celine Dion and more have worked with the Long Island artist for her songwriting. Her soulful take on indie will have you swaying along throughout the whole set. We've also got our fingers crossed that that cover of Beyonce's Halo will be pulled out...

Yola

When we first heard Yola, you could have knocked us over with a feather - we were that impressed! She dropped her debut album, the Dan Auerbach-produced and released Walk Through Fire, earlier this year and has been picking up fans all 'round with it. It's also seen her pick up FOUR Grammy nominations. Get on the Yola train now and start bragging to your friends.

Allen Stone

Sometimes you just wanna put on your dancin' shoes and we reckon that Allen Stone would be up for that. The American soul and R&B singer is one of the more recent additions to the Bluesfest 2020 line-up (you can check out the latest announce here) and we can't wait to see him hit the stage once more.

Patti Smith

It's Patti Smith and we all thought she'd never come back to Australia - what more is there to say?

Byron Bay Bluesfest takes place from 9-13 April 2020. Tickets are on sale now, head to theGuide for all the info.
