Short description of your band and your music: Pierce Brothers are an indie-folk/roots act from Melbourne. Twin brothers Pat and Jack Pierce entwine high energy foot-stomping sets with catchy folk melodies.

What are you hoping to achieve from showcasing at BIGSOUND? We've built a decent following in Melbourne based solely from live performances. Busking shows led to larger and larger sold out venues across Victoria, and touring nationally. While our sound is very pop/folk, we have a very definite blend of Australian roots music in there. This undertone of the roots genre is reflected highly in the energy of our live performance. Our aim at BIGSOUND is to emphasise the importance of our live show to the music community, as we feel that our live energy outweighs the singles we've put down on a record thus far. We are a live band and playing BIGSOUND is a chance to emphasise that.

Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? Pierce Brothers are unique. With a pop/folk genre that’s very "in" right now, we put a very particular roots element into it. When playing live there are many different instruments playing at the same time; we are a very live orientated show. Come to get involved with the rest of the crowd! Come to dance!
