BIGSOUND Artist Profile: Luke Daniel Peacock

1 September 2015 | 2:43 pm | Artist Submission

Hometown: Brisbane

Short description of your music: Me, Jhindu Lawrie, Rohin Power and Greg Cathcart. It's pretty varied but it all goes back to the rock'n'roll.

Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? Yep. The Troubadour days were particularly memorable.

What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? I've been pretty lucky so it's a tough one. Playing Spring Rain with Halfway and Robert Forster was cool. And having Paul Kelly and Ed Kuepper sing together on a song I recorded ruled also.

Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? My ambitions are awesome.

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? I think it changes song to song. I try not to limit myself with those sorts of things. Whatever works.

If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? The Replacements for sure. They'd have been so much fun. Or Big Star. That'd be sick too.

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? How to meet a nice girl.

What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? Babaganouj, Ben Salter, Cosmic Psychos, Philly, The Goon Sax.

Why should people come and see you from among the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? We're gonna have big guns on stage that shoot big wads of cash into the crowd. And I just had a haircut.
