Holy HolyBand Name: HOLY HOLY
Member/Role: Singer
Hometown: Golconda
Short description of your band and your music: A five piece with members all over the East coast; Brisbane, Melbourne and one in the Hills of Tasmania.
Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? If anything there's too much booze. I'm worried about bowel cancer. And you should be too.
What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? We had a fucking great tour in Europe in May. Amsterdam, Ghent, Berlin, Cologne and a bunch of shows in the UK. It was so nice to see countries pass by the van windows.
Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? The more success we've had as band the more money we've lost. It seems to be an inverse relationship. Things are going great right now and we've never had more debt. It's a good sign.

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? We love playing live and we can do the recordings justice but there's something beautiful about being the studio, capturing the sounds perfectly and getting to hear it all through the cans.
If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? Jeff Buckley and band. I love the guy so much. He was that rare thing: an absolute monster on the guitar and vocals. His vocal takes are so ambitious but also effortless.
What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? I don't think I'm going to be able to attend the conference. But if I could I would see the Peter Garrett keynote. He's a national treasure that guy.
What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? Methyl Ethel, Jaala, Pearls, Ben Wright Smith, Ali Barter, Crepes, Donny Benet, Mangelwurzel, Olympia, Shining Bird, Totally Mild
Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? Never really been into that game. Listen to all the bands and go see the ones you love. It's the best weekend of music in Brisbane. You'd be crazy to stay home and miss it.
