How long have you been together? We’ve just passed the two-year anniversary mark. The band was actually formed on New Year’s Eve going into 2013. We drunkenly thought forming a band was a good idea, and somehow we have survived.
How did you all meet? Every one of us has met in a bar at a gig on separate occasions over the years. We were all friends before the band started. We also had been playing in bands in Sydney and appreciating each other’s work.
You’re on tour in the van – which band or artist is going to keep the most people happy if we throw them on the stereo? Judas Priest would be the clear winner here. Covering all eras. Can never get sick of the Priest! We even once listened to Nostradamus in its entirety on a trip to a show in Canberra. That’s commitment!
Would you rather be a busted broke-but-revered Hank Williams figure or some kind of Metallica monster? As much as blowing thousands of bucks on therapists and art collections is appealing I’d dare say the broke and obscure option is closer to reality.
What part do you think Sydney plays in the music you make? The sunny climate may play a part in our lack-of-seriousness to a degree. However, having to drink beer in plastic cups at pubs, lockout laws, and lack of venues that play metal may add to our pissed-off-ness.
Is your band responsible for more make-outs or break-ups? Why? Definitely make-outs. Our odes have a tendency to raise fists and make babes horny – quite often at our shows while we’re playing. The last time we played Frankie’s two young starlets put on quite the show in the crowd. It was difficult to focus on our songs.
What reality TV show would you enter as a band and why? Musical reality TV can FOAD so none of those. I’d nominate Bastardizer for Rock Of Love and demand Kristy Joe’s triumphant return to the mansion.
What’s in the pipeline for the band in the short term? 2015 will be massive. We have an NZ tour, plenty of local shows including an Oz tour with Midnight from USA. Our new split is out soon and then it’s album #2 time. An Asian tour is likely and expanding our reach even further across the globe.
