Local Sydney-sider, PAPERTOY is the young beat producer boasting saucy sounds of boom-bappy hip-hop and stripped back RnB grooves. Coming into his own unique sound over the past year, this young guy is just starting to heat up and we've pounced on him as one of our artists to watch in 2014 - and after you take a listen to his tunes, you'll know why.
Producing and releasing tunes as PAPERTOY since only the beginning of this year, it's astonishing how far this guy has come. His production skills are on point, dropping a steady flow of tunes over the last few months, with bootleg remixes thrown in, flipping even the likes of Beyonce into a densely vibey late-nite treat.
Recently releasing his latest single 'The Love' through the intensely popular and forward-thinking Perth label DIE HIGH RECORDS, PAPERTOY gained a huge amount of kudos for the tightly woven chill'd out club track, a sound that he is becoming increasingly synonymous with - melting slick vocal samples with sliding bass rhythms and crispy 808 drum patterns.
With this kind of standard set for PAPERTOY tunes, we can only expect great things for the upcoming year for this producer, with signs pointing to hopefully a new release, whether it be an EP or otherwise - one thing is for sure: PAPERTOY is definitely one to watch out for in 2014.
