Album title? Monsters' Rights

Where did the title of your new album come from? One finds oneself on the outside of society from time to time doesn't one? At a certain point you stop asking to be let back in and draft your own constitution, Monsters' Rights

How many releases do you have now? Our prior EP, Salt Sugar Fat, was our snappy pick-up line. Our second escalates to marriage proposal meets divorce proceedings.

How long did it take to write/record? Many of these songs have been around since the first EP. The band fell apart and the newer numbers cover the civil war that ensued. Remember your 30s? They're all here, all of it.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? Humans like stories to have baddies and goodies and love is no exception. It's well-tilled soil but we put some tomato seeds down and pissed all over them anyway — self-made pain, such a buzz.

What's your favourite song on it? The obvious choice is the eponymous Monsters' Rights, but there's something therapeutic about creating a sad disco song in Half Two

Will you do anything differently next time? Never ever become a musician. Learn to be an accountant or a stripper, or both. I'd also consider being a train driver I guess.

When and where is your launch/next gigs? May 5, Leadbelly with Restless Leg, Fruit and Sam Shinazzi & Barry Adamson. 3 Jun, Marrickville Bowling Club.
