Album title? All The Wandering

Where did the title of your new album come from? Follows a theme of our album titles, from Wind Already Blown to Highway Dancing to Sweet Runaway to All The Wandering; we seem to have an unsettled, restless, roaming feel to our titles.

How many releases do you have now? We have five, as mentioned above, as well as our debut self-titled album.

How long did it take to write/record? We recorded All The Wandering initially as a duo during winter 2013 in our own studio called My Sweet Mule. We then re-recorded with full band in November 2013, including a horn section.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? I think our time overseas travelling through Memphis and Nashville in 2012 was pretty inspiring; it got us into the idea of using a horn section and big grooves from our rhythm section.

What’s your favourite song on it? That’s like asking a parent who their favourite child is and it’s not really up to me, you decide.

Will you do anything differently next time? For sure, you have to allow yourself the freedom in the studio to take the song where it needs to go and not get caught in your past.

When and where is your launch/next gig? Album launch with Sara Tindley, 2 Oct, Clancy’s Fish Pub.
