Album title? Liam Gerner & The Sunset Pushers

Where did the title of your new album come from? The album name 'sunset pushers' comes from our band name that's inspired by the great Australian photographer Tobias Titz' photo of a row of prams left deserted in the bush near Hermannsburg mission.

How many releases do you have now? I have two albums out now.

How long did it take to write/record? I wrote the songs over three years since returning to Australia from nine years living overseas. The album was recorded in three days, two sessions in Melbourne and one in Los Angeles.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? I was inspired by connection to home. That being the conflicting emotions and realities of what it means to be Australian. Australian bands inspired as did words by Don Watson, Neil Murray and Banjo Paterson.

What's your favourite song on it? Horse For Hire is a good song. It's about lack of work in the bush and horses in the city.

Will you do anything differently next time? Yes, as it's recorded now, we will now continue to explore playing the songs in as many different ways as we can possibly blinkin' imagine, backwards even.

When and where is your launch/next gigs? 24 Jun, Wesley Anne. We'll be doing our album launch with Sime Nugent and Django Braveheart (my new gypsy metal instrumental acoustic duo with Keri Nuttal).
