Mystery Bus

Five minutes with co-producer, Claudia Santangelo.

Name and role: Claudia Santangelo – Co- Producer.

Plug your show! Mystery Bus will take you to where no other Fringe show will go. Eight unique nights, secret locations and venues you never knew were there. Read your clue and meet the bus outside The Enmore to begin your adventure! Be warned, there is an adults only option.

Where did the idea for your show come from? We wanted to create a fun and accessible way to showcase Sydney's underground fringe arts scene. Think of it as blind cultural speed dating with a twist. Each year we evolve with more producers, more venues and more artists jumping on board.

What have the past few months or so been like in the lead-up to Fringe? Ah you know, feather bower carnage, rashes from fake facial hair, grease from the spark plugs, sleepless nights due to the endless tap dancing.

What inspires you artistically? There a number of people involved in Mystery Bus – we actually met on a bus – and we share a wide range of talents from production to burlesque to puppetry.  Everyone loves a mystery!

What the most cringe-worthy thing you've seen on stage? Mr Bamboo pulling guitar leads out of their dirty holes.

What other shows are you looking forward to at this year's Fringe? Festival Of Weird Spaces, The Rescue Ships, Old 505 Theatre, Jurrasic Lounge, Red Rattler.

What excites you about being involved in the Sydney Fringe 2012? The diversity of performers that come out of the woodwork; from the local veterans to the shamelessly experimental. It's the one time of the year when the bus kicks its engine – laden with strange colourful folk – and chugs up to The Enmore, passengers file on but where they go is a mystery!

WHEN & WHERE: Saturday 8 to Saturday 29 September, pick up The Enmore Theatre
