2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Tickets Now On Sale

The 2024 Melbourne International Comedy Festival is once again set to bring the laughs to the city with a slew of events from March 27 to April 21, 2024.

The festival promises a riot of laughter with a stellar lineup of both international and local comedians, following on from the phenomenal success of the 2023 edition, which saw record-breaking ticket sales and box office numbers.

The first round of shows have now been announced, and tickets are now on sale, offering comedy enthusiasts a chance to secure their spots for what is expected to be an even bigger and better event than the previous year.

Among the headliners are Atsuko Okatsuka from the USA, Carl Donnelly from the UK, fresh from an Australian tour supporting Kevin Bridges; Ireland's musical and witty David O’Doherty; Scotland’s queen of comedy Fern Brady; Larry Dean from Scotland, a multi-talented comedian, writer, and actor; and rising stars from Europe, including Chloe Petts, Rob Auton, and Julia Masli.

Returning for her second year is Mexican-American-Venezuelan stand-up Lara Ricote. Comedy Zone Asia will also make their return, presenting a fresh cast of comedic voices from the Asian region.

Award-winning comedian John Hastings from Canada and 2023 Director’s Choice Award Winner Takashi Wakasugi from Japan add to the international flair. Not to be forgotten are the much-loved favourites like Dr. Jason Leong, Arj Barker, Lloyd Langford, and Ivan Aristeguieta.

New Zealand comedians will also make their mark, with Chris Parker, Guy Montgomery, Guy Williams, Melanie Bracewell, Ray O’Leary, and Urzila Carlson descending on Melbourne for a comedic invasion.

The festival won't be short on local talent either, featuring a plethora of well-known names like Aaron Chen, Aboriginal Comedy Allstars, Anne Edmonds, Akmal, Celia Pacquola, Claire Hooper, Jimeoin, Joel Creasey, Josh Thomas, and many more. The diverse lineup promises something for every comedic taste.

The festival will kick off with its flagship special events, including The Gala at Melbourne’s iconic Palais Theatre, supporting Oxfam, and the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow, featuring a star-studded lineup of global comedy royalty. Returning favourites like The 34th Annual Great Debate and Upfront will also grace the stage.

Other main events include the Festival Club, Comedy Club for Kids during school holidays, and showcases like RAW Comedy, Deadly Funny, and Class Clowns National Grand Finals, discovering the next big comedic talents.

The Festival’s Neighbourhood Sessions will also make a comeback, bringing a mix of familiar and fresh faces to the suburbs.
