Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower is set to bring the Upside Down to Australia this April, locking in two appearances at the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming exhibition.
The actor and musician will appear at the Gold Coast (11-12 April) and Melbourne (18-19) legs of Supanova, making his debut at the event.
Bower quickly became a fan favourite when he entered the Stranger Things universe in the series’ fourth season. His portrayal of Vecna, the chilling villain named after the Dungeons & Dragons character, scored Bower a Critics Choice and MTV nomination for Best Villain. He last appeared in the series’s final episodes, which premiered at the end of 2025.
In addition to portraying Vecna in Stranger Things, Bower is recognised for his roles in The Twilight Saga, the Harry Potter franchise, The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones film, and Sweeney Todd.
Bower is also known for his music career. From 2015 to 2020, he served as lead singer and guitarist for the punk rock band Counterfeit. The group disbanded and Bower pursued a solo career, and in 2024, formed a new band called BloodMagic.

He’s cited acts including The Cure, Placebo, Deftones, Blur, Oasis, Sunn O))), Mayhem, Darkthrone, as musical influences, with the latter three acts inspiring his role as Vecna—he also found inspiration in Placebo’s cover of the Kate Bush classic, Running Up That Hill, for his villainous turn.
As well as Bower, this year’s Supanova is going off with a bang with previously announced Supa-Stars, such as Denise Richards, Harry Potter co-star Bonnie Wright, original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson, Frank Grillo (Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Purge, Kingdom), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy), Buffy The Vampire Slayer icon James Marsters, Critical Role’s Robbie Daymond, and others.
Supanova will also host comic creators from across the globe, including artists Adi Granov and Humberto Ramos, Jon Sommariva (Neverlanders), David Yardin (Venom), Mark Raats (Star Wars), Daniel Picciotto (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), Austen Mengler (Execution), Anthony Christou (Luminous Ages), Comics on Country’s Scott Wilson and Wolfgang Bylsma, and COMICS2MOVIES’ Shaun Keenan.
Day, weekend, and limited Supa-Q and VIP Supa-Star passes are available now for the Gold Coast and Melbourne events. Autograph and Photograph Tokens will be available closer to April—fans can keep up with updates via Supanova’s social media channels and website.
