Who are Queensland's best festival and live music venues?

"These awards not only celebrate Queensland's artists, they help us nurture the next generation," QMA winner Troy Cassar-Daley said.

The QMAs have served as early career milestones for Kate Miller-Heidke, Amy Shark, Violent Soho, Troy Cassar-Daley, and others.

QMusic have issued a further statement in regards to the controversy surrounding this year's QMAs: "It cannot become standard practice for governments to revoke support in response to artistic expression they disagree with."

“We do not wish for the Queensland Music Awards to be a platform for political debate. The intention of the event is, and always has been, to celebrate the work of our state’s artists and industry.”

“The talent that comes up on that stage every year never ceases to amaze me.”
