Melbourne's Bored Nothing's second album releases its first single - Ice-Cream Dreams.. Melbourne artist Bored Nothing has announced details for his second album, Some Songs, due October 24 here via Spunk Records, with the first single from it - Ice-Cream Dreams. Following an album full of collected works, Some Songs was very much written with one eye on the album format, and continues the '90s-homaging, lo-fi slacker-pop sweetness that made his debut such a popular release. From the moment Fergus Miller leads the five-piece Bored Nothing into their set it’s clear a wry, fumbling intelligence is at work, though as it turns out, it’s given few constraints.

At least two of the bands are capable of significantly better than they showed, and perhaps it’s best to just think of this as a cautionary tale as to why plying young musicians with alcohol all night is a bad idea for anyone stuck watching them.
