Radio Birdman’s legacy remains untouched, immortalised as one of the most influential bands in Australian punk and rock history.

Recent documentary 'Descent Into The Maelstrom' lifts the veil on the one of the most mythologised bands in Oz music history – legendary ‘70s Sydney rockers Radio Birdman – and founding guitarist Deniz Tek tells Steve Bell that he’s not surprised that the establishment isn’t keen on sharing their outlaw narrative.

"As a responsible public broadcaster, we don’t acquire content that we do not have a need for."

The Labor MP has sent a letter to the broadcaster.

The band have addressed the decision in a statement.
