'We Were Inspired To Get Loud': Silversun Pickups On 'Tenterhooks' & Their Long-Awaited Return To Australia

Seekae

Seekae was a Sydney-based electronic music group. They formed the group under the name Commander Keen in reference to the early-'90s MS-DOS video game series, later changing the name to an elongated version of Commander Keen's initials (CK) after realising the name was taken by a Scottish band. They released their debut album The Sound of Trees Falling on People in 2008 and released the follow-up +Dome in 2011 and the EP 3 in 2012. The band released their third album The Worry in September 2014. The group parted ways in 2016, following a final show supporting The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Video: Seekae - The Stars Below
Shot in Bulgaria it continues a trend of intriguing videos from Seekae.. Seekae have just released a beautifully shot, haunting video clip for their current single The Stars Below. The connection between clip and the track itself is limited but conceptually the melding of shadows and varying hues of blues reflect the overall melancholy as Alex Cameron states, 'Do you even know what real men do?' And throughout the track bounces a CGI metallic ball which reflects the fast-paced percussion. But it's the scenery that makes the clip stand-out with it's high-vaulted ceiling and flowing buttresses that are highlighted through the clever use of angles. The location in question is Bulgaria with the town of Bankya chosen for the shoot and while it is not stated where in Bankya it was filmed it could be the Mineral Baths as the town is famous for it's mineral springs.   Seekae play next year's St Jerome's Laneway Festival - info/tickets HERE.
