Howard Earl Bailey Jr. (born March 9, 1980), known professionally as Chingy, is an American rapper from St. Louis, Missouri. He toured as an opening act with fellow St. Louis rapper Nelly in the summer of 2002, and was eventually signed to Georgia rapper Ludacris' record label, Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP). In a joint-venture with Capitol Records, he released his debut single, "Right Thurr" in April 2003, peaking at 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song preceded his 2003 debut album, Jackpot. His second album, Powerballin', was released in 2004 to mixed reviews, while his third album, Hoodstar, spawned the hit singles "Pullin' Me Back" (featuring Tyrese Gibson) and "Dem Jeans" (featuring Jermaine Dupri). In 2007, he released his fourth album, Hate It or Love It, which was preceded by lead single "Fly Like Me" (featuring Amerie). His fifth studio album, Success & Failure, was released in 2010.
