CARMADA Text Message Interview
Bangers and bung eyes with Carmada.. We hope you enjoy this text message interview with the slightly-longer-haired half of bass music bros Carmada. Since officially joining forces last year as Carmada, Max Armata (Yahtzel) and Drew Carmody (L D R U) have been absolutely killing it. Their debut single Maybe is probably gonna poll quite damn well in the upcoming triple j Hottest 100, and their debut EP Realise very much caught the attention of one Sonny Moore, known to most as Skrillex, who opted to release via his OWSLA label (but the EP HERE). Basically, 2014 was huge, and 2015 is shaping up to be twice as large, and we caught up with Yahtzel towards the end of last year to try and get our heads around a crazy few months, discuss new shorts fashion, and also take the opportunity to share candid photos of L D R U's bung eye. WA kids will get the chance to throw down with Carmada on an island at CASTAWAY, Sunday 15 February - details HERE. Follow Carmada: FACEBOOK / WEBSITE

New Music: Carmada - Realise (EP)
Carmada's fiery debut EP is finally out.. Carmada's debut 4-track EP Realise is full of delicate builds and monstrous break-downs of warbling bass that all point to one thing, its a banger. So don't worry, there aren't any accoustic instruments as far as I could tell but there is a saxophone. And for those out the loop about Carmada, Yahtzel and LDRU make up the duo and formed earlier this year after Splendour In The Grass at which they pounded out a searing-hot B2B. This DJ set saw them join forces and drop Maybe ahead of this EP. Realise,is the opener and it slowly burns to life as Noah Slee's vocals cut in before the pounding drums and skittering percussions kick in to give it a futuristic tribal feel. And then slides in Maybe a track that has become synonymous with Carmada. The opening keys set the spine tingling before the real fire starts, which if you're familiar with Carmada you will have come to love. Carmalude keys the blaze down a notch with a sumptous saxophone and down-tem

Video: Carmada - Maybe
'Tude for days.. Carmada, AKA Aussie tropical banger merchants LDRU and Yahtzel, have dropped the video for their debut single Maybe, just in time for summer. Shot in LA along Venice Beach, it's basically just a a girl on a bike fucking everybody's shit up, and it's all kinds of awesome. The video follows their recent signing with OWSLA, joining label boss Skrillex and fellow Aussies What So Not on the Los Angeles-stationed imprint. This is what the pair had to say about joining the stable: "Couldn't be more exited to finally announce we'll be joining a massive group of legends, having signed with OWSLA for North America and Sony Music Entertainment for Australasia! Big love to both crews, especially Skrillex for sharing Maybe in his most recent Skrillex Selects playlist. We can't thank you all enough for the support you've given us so far..." The vid comes ahead of their Realise EP - pre-order it HERE, and the duo will be appearing at the upcoming Steresonic Festivals.

Spenda C gives us the keys to his DJ set essentials.. Steve Lind AKA Spenda C is no stranger to the Australian bass music scene, hailed by peers as being at the forefront of the local trap music scene. So who better to ask for from dancefloor detonators than this guy right? Celebrating a brand new single with a huge Australian tour, check five bass beasts from one of the best in the game right now: CARMADA - MAYBE This is "Australian Sound" done right! I love how the sweet vocal intro lulls you in and then BAM that BAM that drop with the gnarly, grindy synth smacking you upside the face and making you wanna start a mosh pit. HYDRAULIX & OSKI - LET'S PLAY This is an absolute MONSTER from homies Hydro & Oski. Every trap DJ and his dog has been dropping this one. Let's Play has loads of energy and it's weird as fuck but still works a treat on the dancefloor. I play this every set. BAAUER & BOYS NOIZE - FIRE LIKE THIS This collab has been getting a lot of hate on the interwebs but I rec
