New Music: Purity Ring - Repetition
Purity Ring nail it again with Repetition.. Purity Ring have been wooing fans with their steady release of singles like Push Pull and Begin Again, and now with the airy Repetition. It doesn’t carry the soaring anthem of Push Pull nor the bewitching mood of Begin Again, however much like the previous two singles Repetition has its own identity with Megan James’ golden vocals untouched against a shimmering sound-bed of sharp percussion. And with the release of this third single, the release of Another Eternity on March 2 could not come sooner. Video: Purity Ring - Push / Pull
Purity Ring premiere the first video from their forthcoming 'Another Eternity' album.. We were awash with Purity Ring fever in December last year, when the Canadian duo released their first music in two years (since their 2012 album Shrines) with dreamy single Push / Pull, a track that, along with subsequent release Begin Again, demonstrated Purity Ring ability to make killer music is as strong as ever, and that has us hanging out for their sophomore release, Another Eternity, which is due out next month. A couple months on, Megan James and Corrin Roddick have just given us the visuals to accompany the track. The surreal video is directed by Renata Kaksha, and begins with Megan’s face enshrouded in darkness, before she tumbles through a cosmic ocean of purple and pink, in a visual echo of the track's lyrics: "A fever billowed with the wind / And I obeyed the sky therein." Dressed in a pink ostrich feathery-like dress, James weaves in and out of her own hair, before light begins to radi

New Music: Purity Ring – Begin Again
Rapture in a song.. Future pop starlets Purity Ring have just dropped their second single, Begin Again, off their upcoming album Another Eternity (due March 3 2015 via 4AD) so just stop whatever you’re doing. It’s wild burning passion encased with a cold prison of dry percussions. Push Pull may have been a strong start but Begin Again with its tingling synths, growling bass and sharp percussive claps stay in your mind long after the track stops. And come the ecstasy-inducing breakdown it’s hard not to love this song. And that’s before the fiery love that anchors this song is even considered especially when singer Megan James cries, "My moon o my moon not even into another eternity will you stop your lovely orbiting…" Showing how much like the moon and earth they’re forever locked together. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you struggled to break away from the rapture that is this song. Follow Purity Ring: FACEBOOK / TUMBLER

New Music: Purity Ring - Push Pull
After nearly two years of silence Purity Ring return with a single titled Push Pull.. Purity Ring have released their first track, Push Pull, in nearly two years and it reflects a shift towards a more pop-orienated sonic direction in place of chopped vocals and twilight-infused synths. This decision to move away from chopped vocals could reflect a growing confidence in Megan James' voice and more elemental tracks in comparison to their instrumentally dense debut album Shrines. Purity Ring's sonic shift reflects a decision to push their creative boundaries as they have with the bouncing drums and the playful piano keys that appear in the track. But what remains the same is the dulcet toned voice of James as it soars over the track. Whether this piece is their first single on an upcoming release or a stand alone track we don't know but it's good to have them back. Click HERE to head to their website to see the lyrics and more.
