Spawning from the ashes of New Navy, ISLANDIS' indie-pop debut is sure to impress..
An upbeat single for a downlow moment as New Navy's first and last album comes out..
The Sydney three-piece will posthumously release their long-awaited debut full-length "in coming months"
Electro-popstress Elizabeth Rose chills New Navy's out even further.. November last year saw the release of New Navy's latest single Pelican, a typically breezy piece of chilled-out pop from the Sydney three-piece. And with the new year they're kicking things off with an equally chilled-out start thanks to Elizabeth Rose applying her certain set of electronic skills to a remix of Pelican. Unsurprisingly it's a bouncy little effort from Rose that keeps things pretty downbeat until the final stanza, where it grows to almost dancefloor-worthy. Some lush new electronica from an emerging Brisbane four-piece.. If I Had Antlers are Farzan Saif, Jasper Gunderson, Anthony Trimboli and Kurt Sines, a Brisbane-based four-piece who would almost qualify for our 5 Under 500 series, and are no less deserving of your attention. A relatively fresh act, they've been hard at work crafting music which they're looking to release of the next few months, and we're excited to premiere their latest endeavour Cedar, which also marks the beginning of their debut live shows touring with Pile-faves Tora and New Navy. Swelling, delicate synths and gentle, emotional vocals combine for a beautiful outcome. Take a listen below, and check out their upcoming shows below that: UPCOMING SHOWS: Thurs 27 Nov: Alhambra Lounge, Brisbane w/ Tora Wed 10 Dec: Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane w/ New Navy Thur 11 Dec: The Northern, Byron Bay w/ New Navy Follow If I Had Antlers: FACEBOOK
"New New Navy is subtle, textured, emotive and arguably more mature."
The boys have ten dates lined up around the country throughout November and December
New single, a debut LP and an Aus' tour for our fave sea-farers.. New Navy continue kicking 2014 square in the nuts. Following the release of their much-loved single Heaven, New Navy have released the next single, Rosaline - the first official release from their forthcoming debut LP. Rosaline is a twisted take on the love song, featuring their typically silky smooth vocals, tropical vibes and disco guitars, and marks another step forward for the Sydney three-piece. It's all building up to the release of their first full length, and while we don't have a date for that, you can check the dates for their upcoming Australian tour shows supporting Andy Bull, along with a couple of sneaky headline shows of their own.
