"If any particular qualm lingers, it's that some of the best visual moments come and go in a flash, somewhat like life."

A rad new music/art venue in Wollongong opens June 6.. Washed Out is a new live music venue/art space opening in Wollongong next month, with a focus on booking emerging local and touring acts whilst simultaneously pushing the local art and design communities of the area. Initiatives like monthly feature artists and custom limited t-shirts will be backed by regular band shows and good times. It kicks off June 6 with a launch party backing all these claims by hosting Triple J Unearthed winners Lunatics On Pogosticks and Central Coast indie-pop quartet Sea Legs, joined by locals The Vanns and psychedelic surf-rock collective Sheerkhan. "There’s definitely some lyrics on the record that don’t have anything to do with the Paracosm idea, but sonically I think there is [a narrative thrust]."
Mostly though, this album sounds like an escape, like pure white light and warmth and, while listening may not quite transport you to a different world, it definitely makes this one a little softer around the edges.
The next time the sun comes out, play Paracosm. Let it wash over you. Let it cleanse your soul.
Paracosm will fuel very different sorts of parties than Within And Without, but it’s still very much designed to be enjoyed with other humans around. Highly recommended.
