Tkay Maidza - Switch Lanes Video + Switch Tape EP
Tkay's debut EP confirms a breakout year, along with a killer video clip for her latest single.. Tkay Maidza continues to take 2014 by the scruff of the neck, following a slew of great releases (listen HERE and HERE), last Friday saw the release of her debut EP Switch Tapes, featuring the Paces-produced joint Switch Lanes. And after premiering with Complex yesterday, the animated video clip for the single is now live and you need to check it out below, because it is all kinds of rad. And once you've watched it, get stuck into Switch Tapes HERE, which features Friend Within's brand new track Monochrome, collabs with local legends like Kilter, Motez, Carmada and Paces, Skrillex's protege Must Die! and Mad Decent alumni Swick and Lewis Cancut, along with Tkay's personal take on SBTRKT's Everybody Knows. If you're gonna do a mixtape - do it right.

New: Tkay Maidza - Switch Lanes
A new single, from a new EP, ahead of a US/UK/AUS tour - boom.. Tkay Maidza's our fave, we've said it heaps, so I'll just point you to previous track postings HERE and HERE, where we extoll ridiculous amounts of (very deserved) love upon the hip hopstress. It seems the rest of the world is very quickly taking notice, and today Maidza has dropped a new single Switch Lanes, from her forthcoming Switch Tape EP (due October 24 via Dew Process/UMA), and ahead of a global tour that takes in the US, UK and then back home for the summer (check the dates down the bottom). Switch Lanes was produced by an equally swaggalicous artist in Paces (himself just dropping a new tune and new EP announce LAST WEEK), and it's a pretty perfect pairing, dripping in Paces' signature steal drum vibes with Tkay providing a more-restrained flow that shows a softer, more soulful side. It's just a fucking winner all round. Follow Tkay Maidza: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Tkay Maidza - Finish Them (Prod. by Bok Bok)
World domination has quickly become not the next step, just a reality.. Imagine a world where Azaelia Banks kept making awesome music, but didn't turn out to be super annoying and bitchy and just a general pain in the ass. Well you can stop imagining because Australia's new hip hop queen Tkay Maidza ticks all the right boxes, and dare we say it - with better tunes. The latter point is especially unsurprising and will continue to be so if she keeps enlisting the help of producers like Night Slugs alumni Bok Bok, who lends his dark, future-R&B stylings to her latest release, Finish Them. It'd all count for nothing though if Tkay didn't stand tall with her own lightning-quick flow and soulful vocals, which she packs in spades. We said it when U-Huh came out (HERE) and it almost feels like she's already skipped ahead - Tkay Maidza isn't just one to watch out for, she's already riding high at the top of Australian hip hop. And in a world where established Aussie acts like Bliss & Eso are pr

Tkay Maidza - U-Huh
World domination is surely imminent.. Following radio-slaying bangers Brontosaurus and Handle My Ego, Tkay Maidza is continuing her killer roll in 2014 with new single U-Huh. Something akin to the stylings of MIA and Azealia Banks (minus the diva bullshit), Tkay has carved a strong-as-fuck name for herself very quickly following some self-assured live shows on the last LV Presents tour, and will no doubt win a buttload of new fans when she takes on Splendour In The Grass this coming weekend. Something about her harder - at times electro -edged take on hip hop tickles me in the right places, and I can't wait to see her dominate the rest of this year and beyond. Follow her on FACEBOOK to watch what will no doubt be a rapid rise to the cream of the Aussie hip hop crop, and enjoy U-Huh below, available digitally via Dew Process from July 21.
